Electric Car Chargers Downtown

From "Planning for Equity: Infrastructure & Investments in McMinnville Neighborhoods"

Go to the project

Is it possible to install a bank of electric car chargers at one of the downtown parking lots? We currently have only one high speed electric car charger in our town (in the back parking lot of the Oregon Mutual building) and when it breaks or is being serviced, we have none.

McMinnville is a great halfway point between Portland and the coast which makes our location ideal for attracting vacationers looking for a place to stop and charge their car. It would create more interest in the downtown businesses.

There are provisions in the Build Back Better bill that create grant money for public EV chargers in both downtown areas of cities and in underserved communities. Can these grant options be explored by the city?
